Why I Love Ayurveda and I Think You Will Too

17181723_ml-300x300As a former WOBO woman who hit-THE-wall, I have walked a seven-year journey back to health and vitality. Of all the tools, approaches, and philosophies I’ve learned and explored, Ayurveda is the one that has most transformed my life.

What is Ayurveda? In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means “the science of life.” It is a 5,000-year-old medical system that originated in India. In a Western context, Ayurveda is a system of naturopathic medicine.

Why I love Ayurveda:

  • It’s empowering. Ayurveda puts the WOBO woman in charge of her own health.
  • It gets to the root cause. Ayurveda’s guiding principle of causation helps each WOBO woman discover and address the root causes of her pain, disease or sorrow.
  • It’s comprehensive. Ayurveda is a healing medical system that works with all aspects of the WOBO woman’s health including the specialties of internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, ophthalmology, toxicology, rejuvenation, and psychiatry. In addition, Ayurveda’s sister science is yoga, the science of meditation that activates the WOBO woman’s inner healer.
  • It’s holistic. Ayurveda’s healing strategies address the mind, body, and soul. When practicing Ayurveda, the WOBO woman improves her whole life.
  • It’s not one-size-fits-all. Ayurveda allows the WOBO woman to understand her unique nature and learn how to live in harmony with it.
  • It’s spiritual foundation. Ayurveda’s spiritual practices help the WOBO woman develop her pure consciousness where she experiences peace, bliss, compassion, and liberation.
  • It has a wide array of available tools to promote self-healing which includes yoga, meditation, breath work, nutrition, aromatherapy, sound therapy, rejuvenative therapies, energy work, and bodywork.
